Is there a way to convert audio/video (analog) to usb (digital) so AV can be viewed in real time?

This project that I'm currently working on that requires me to hook up a webcam to my mobile robot and view it in real time as the robot moves around. Basically the webcam is the robot's eyes as I'm able to view its surroundings and control it from a remote location.

As of right now I have it hooked up so that the 2.4GHz receiver is connected to the TV via AV cables.

Problem: I want the reciever to be hooked up to the computer to view on the computer in real time. I understand that I will need a AV to USB cable/converter because it's analog to digital, but will it work in real time with all the cables and software like the link below? And is there another way to go about this? And can anyone recommend a solution to solve this problem I'm having?
